Automotive Industry Training Account Manager

Full-time, Permanent
West Coast, South Island

#5514
  • Work-from-home role in Greymouth or Hokitika, with a vehicle provided
  • Use your automotive expertise to help employers and learners succeed
  • Birthday leave plus three paid days off between Christmas and New Year

Are you an experienced automotive professional who enjoys building relationships and helping people succeed?

Our client is looking for an energetic and relationship-focused Automotive Industry Training Account Manager to support employers and learners across the West Coast and Canterbury.

Working across the automotive, commercial road transport, logistics, extractives, drilling, and gas industries, you will help learners achieve their qualifications while supporting employers to develop the skilled people their businesses need.

About the role

This varied role combines account management, learner support, workforce development, and business development.

You will:

  • Manage a portfolio of learners and support them to achieve their qualifications and training milestones
  • Build trusted relationships with employers and industry stakeholders
  • Monitor learner progress and provide practical guidance and support
  • Promote industry training opportunities and grow engagement with new and existing customers
  • Contribute to regional workforce planning and deliver an exceptional customer experience

How you’ll work

This is a work-from-home role, so you must live in either Greymouth or Hokitika and have a suitable area available to set up as a home office.

You will generally spend one day each week working from home and the remaining four days visiting employers and learners.

The position also requires travel to Canterbury for approximately one week each month, including overnight stays. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your schedule, and travelling regularly.

What’s in it for you?

Our client offers:

  • A work-from-home role based in Greymouth or Hokitika
  • The autonomy to manage your own days and territory, with the support of a collaborative team
  • A fortnightly tax-free allowance towards home-office and internet costs
  • A paid day off for your birthday
  • Three additional paid days off between Christmas and New Year

What you’ll bring

An automotive industry qualification or significant automotive industry experience is essential.

You will also bring:

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and organised approach
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Experience managing a portfolio of customers or stakeholders
  • Sound problem-solving, computer, and reporting skills
  • A clean, full New Zealand driver licence

Experience in learner support, workplace training, workforce development, business development, or customer relationship management would be an advantage.

If you have the automotive expertise and people skills to connect with employers and learners, and you are based in Greymouth or Hokitika, we would love to hear from you.
