We are seeking a practical, hands-on Caretaker / Grounds Person to support a busy school campus and boarding house on a short-term full-time assignment for approximately 4 - 5 weeks.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly, takes pride in their work, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. A background in carpentry or building would be highly regarded.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the school grounds, buildings, and boarding facilities, helping ensure the campus is safe, tidy, and well-presented.

Key Duties Include:

  • General repairs and maintenance
  • Grounds upkeep and basic gardening
  • Minor carpentry and handyman tasks
  • Checking and maintaining school facilities
  • Assisting with boarding house maintenance needs
  • Ensuring a safe and tidy environment for staff and students

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Practical maintenance or trade skills
  • Carpentry / chippy background highly desirable
  • Reliable and able to work unsupervised
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
  • Able to pass a Police Vetting check due to working within a school environment
