Ready to get off the tools while still using your drainage expertise? This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Drainlayer to move into an office-based estimating role with a well-established and respected Dunedin drainage and plumbing company.

Our client has built a strong reputation across Otago for delivering high-quality commercial drainage projects and continues to experience steady growth.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Dunedin.

This role will suit a qualified Drainlayer with strong industry knowledge and experience pricing commercial and/or civil drainage projects. You will be confident interpreting plans and specifications and working on complex project tenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial drainage projects
  • Respond to Requests for Tender (RFTs)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and main contractors
  • Work closely with project managers and site teams
  • Attend client and project meetings
  • Undertake site visits to monitor project progress
  • Assist with contract administration

Skills & Experience

  • New Zealand registered Drainlayer
  • Minimum 5 years’ drainage industry experience
  • Experience pricing commercial and/or civil drainage projects (preferred)
  • Strong ability to interpret plans and specifications
  • Solid Excel skills and estimating software experience (preferred)
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong industry and product knowledge within the drainage sector
