Functions and Events Temp (Rostered Shifts) – starts late April

Temporary - rostered shifts
Dunedin, Otago

#5156

We’re looking for someone with the flexibility to cover a variety of rostered shifts in the functions and event space located in Central Dunedin. This is a temporary role that is likely to run for at least a couple of months. This opportunity may suit a student with a flexible timetable, as shifts will be rostered over a 7-day week.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Functions and Events Team, as additional support is required short-term.

What we’re looking for

A hospitality or customer service background or experience of interacting with the public would be ideal, however this is not essential.

You will be physically fit, with the ability to safely lift 10-15kg, and you will need to be capable of working on your feet over the shift period.

Cultural sensitivity is required in this public-facing environment.

We are looking for a friendly personality with a ‘can do’ helpful attitude.

If you are highly reliable and have the availability to work rostered daytime and evening shifts, which may include some weekend work, and you fit the requirements for this role, we want to talk with you now.

What you’ll be doing

  • Setting up and packing down for functions and events – lifting and setting tables and chairs (10-15kg)
  • Setting up and service of tea/coffee/bar for various functions and clean up afterwards
  • Customer service – helpful, professional, culturally sensitive interactions with the public
  • Some light retail work may be required – primarily stocking up the retail space

Shifts

The shift times are variable, for example, you may be working from 5.00 pm – 9.00 pm or from 8.00 am – 2.00 pm. Shifts will be advised a week in advance.

Starts – 28 April 2025

Remuneration

Living wage $27.80 per hour
