About the Role
Working closely with the Partners, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the firm’s day-to-day financial administration, trust account compliance, and operational management. This varied role requires sound judgment, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Trust Account management and reconciliation in compliance with Law Society requirements
- Business Account management and reconciliation, including cashflow reporting
- Payroll processing and maintenance of employee records
- End-of-Month reporting and preparation of financial summaries for Partners
- GST and PAYE preparation and payment
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable management
- Preparation of Client Statements and maintenance of client financial records
- Online banking and payment scheduling
- AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance and record keeping
- Liaising with suppliers and service providers to support office operations
- IT troubleshooting and coordination with external IT support
- General office management, assisting the Partners in the overall management and administration of the firm
About You
You will be an experienced and capable administrator who enjoys taking ownership and ensuring things run smoothly behind the scenes. You will have a high degree of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Essential skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in trust and business account management (legal or professional services environment preferred)
- Sound knowledge of accounting processes and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent time-management, attention to detail, and organisational skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred experience:
- Familiarity with Infinity Law, Xero, and Ace Payroll would be an advantage.
