Do you thrive in a fast-paced production environment? Are you a hands-on leader who enjoys making things happen? We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take the reins of day-to-day operations in a busy food manufacturing facility.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production and operational performance. You’ll lead a core team of 12 permanent staff and manage seasonal hiring of an additional 10–20 casual workers during the peak production season.
This is a crucial leadership role where you’ll drive efficiency, uphold food safety standards, and ensure high levels of team engagement and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across production, packing, maintenance, and logistics
- Manage production schedules and seasonal workforce planning including recruitment
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, quality, and food safety standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce downtime
- Report regularly to the Board on KPIs, performance, and operational challenges
- Foster a strong team culture built on accountability, communication, and respect
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Strong people management skills with a hands-on leadership style
- Experience managing diverse teams, including permanent and casual staff
- Strong knowledge of bakery production processes and logistics.
- A confident communicator with experience reporting to senior leadership or boards
- Sound knowledge of food safety and health & safety regulations
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
