We have two excellent opportunities for experienced accountants to join a growing, mid-sized Chartered Accounting practice in Dunedin.

Whether you are an Intermediate Accountant ready to take the next step or an experienced Senior Accountant looking for greater responsibility and career progression, we would like to hear from you.

Our client is a progressive and well-established Chartered Accounting practice based in Dunedin’s CBD. Continued growth has created opportunities for:

  • Senior Accountant – ideally 5+ years’ New Zealand public practice experience
  • Intermediate Accountant – ideally 2+ years’ New Zealand public practice experience

Background:

The client portfolio is broad and varied, ranging from SMEs, trusts and partnerships through to significant business enterprises across a range of industry sectors.

Depending on your level of experience, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting, compliance and advisory services while developing strong relationships with clients.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing annual financial statements to review stage
  • Preparing annual income tax returns
  • Preparing GST and RWT returns
  • Assisting clients with accounting and compliance matters
  • Providing accounting and business advisory support
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring Graduate Accountants, particularly at Senior level

 

About you

  • You will ideally have:
  • A relevant degree in accounting
  • CA or CPA qualification, or be working towards qualification
  • Senior Accountant: 5+ years’ solid New Zealand public practice accounting and advisory experience
  • Intermediate Accountant: 2+ years’ experience within a New Zealand Chartered Accounting practice
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Good knowledge of New Zealand income tax and GST requirements
  • Experience with small business accounting systems
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative, positive approach to working within a team
