Our client is a respected leader in the civil construction sector, delivering major infrastructure projects that shape communities and support regional growth. As they continue to expand their footprint, they’re looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join their high-performing team and lead engagement strategies across the region.
About the Role:
As the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you’ll be the key point of contact between the company and a diverse group of stakeholders, including local councils, iwi, community groups, landowners, and government agencies. You'll lead proactive communication efforts, resolve issues before they escalate, and ensure that all voices are heard throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies tailored to regional projects.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with local authorities, iwi, residents, and business owners.
- Manage consultation processes, community events, and information sessions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, environmental) to align project delivery with community expectations.
- Act as a spokesperson when required and provide timely responses to stakeholder concerns.
- Monitor stakeholder sentiment and provide regular reports to leadership.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, or communications – ideally within infrastructure, construction, or government.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- A genuine commitment to collaboration and partnership, including cultural competency
- Strategic thinking with the ability to adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences.
- A calm and confident presence under pressure.
