Tenders and Proposals Specialist

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected and growing horizontal construction company that delivers critical civil infrastructure projects across New Zealand. They are now seeking a Tenders and Proposal Specialist to lead the preparation of compelling submissions that win work - and help build the future.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with either experience in writing proposals/preparing tenders or a background in procurement, contracts, or project delivery where you’ve reviewed and evaluated proposals. If you understand what makes a tender stand out, this role is for you.

About the Role

As Tenders and Proposal Specialist, you’ll take ownership of responding to tender requests - from initial planning through to final submission. You’ll collaborate closely with operational, project, and leadership teams to gather technical details, then translate it into persuasive, professional content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage EOIs, RFPs, and other formal tender submissions
• Ensure content aligns with evaluation criteria and client requirements
• Coordinate internal contributors to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy
• Edit and refine technical input into clear, client-focused language
• Maintain up-to-date bid resources including CVs, case studies, and templates

About You:

You may come from a traditional bid/tender writing background, or from a procurement or infrastructure delivery role where you’ve seen what a successful submission looks like. You’ll bring:

• Strong written communication and document coordination skills
• A detail-oriented and organised approach
• Confidence working with subject matter experts and technical teams
• Knowledge of infrastructure or construction sectors (desirable but not essential)
• Familiarity with public sector or local government procurement processes is a plus
